2022 GMC SIERRA HD

The GMC Sierra 1500, a powerful and capable vehicle, gets a mid-cycle facelift in 2022, with a reworked front grille and new headlights and taillights. Along with its diesel and V-8 engines, the full-size pickup truck's towing capability was also enhanced. With over a half-dozen trim levels to choose from, you're sure to discover a Sierra 1500 that meets your demands and fits your budget.

TRIM LEVELS

Base, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X, and Denali Ultimate are the eight trim levels offered for the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. New for 2022 are the AT4X and Denali Ultimate trims, which exude elegance. There are three cabs on the truck (Regular, Double, and Crew). The Regular Cab sits three people, while the other two taxis have bucket seats that seat six or five people. There are three bed lengths available for the truck: 8-foot, 6-foot-6-inches, and 5-foot-8-inches.

ENGINE

Any of the Sierra 1500's five viable powertrains, including a fuel-efficient diesel, can't go wrong. The 2.7-liter inline-four engine delivers 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque as standard. There are two V-8 engines available: a 5.3-liter engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and a 6.2-liter engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine generates 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

PERFORMANCE

Consider the Sierra 1500 diesel-powered pickup truck if you want a truck that gets great gas mileage. These cars get 23 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the interstate. Other than that, the gas mileage figures for the other trims are respectable. With the base engine and rear-wheel drive, you can expect to get 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the interstate, while this engine with four-wheel drive gets 17 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The V-8 engines get 14 to 15 miles per gallon in the city and 18 to 20 miles per gallon on the highway.

INTERIOR

The seats in the Sierra 1500 are roomy and pleasant no matter what size cab you have. Its cabin is made of high-quality materials and has a sumptuous feel to it, as well as good visibility. Front seats with 16-way power adjustment and massage functions are available on higher model levels. Furthermore, inner cubby storage is ample, allowing you to store a variety of smaller goods. Everyone stays connected thanks to the truck's user-friendly infotainment system. A 7-inch touch-screen display, Bluetooth, a single USB connection, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are all standard. Additionally, you can choose from a larger 8-inch touch-screen display, HD and satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and navigation.

SAFETY FEATURES

The Teen Driver feature, which allows you to set audio and speed limits for secondary drivers, is standard on the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. Forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, a following-distance indicator, front pedestrian recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights are all part of the GMC Pro Safety package.
